KANYE WEST ft. Paul McCartney – “Only One” (Audio) New Music via @lisafordblog
It's nice to see Hip Hop teaming up with 'The Beatles'... it's sort of like a full circle move historically in music. The auto tunes is a little distracting but the piano and KANYE'S lyrics are nice. The first of Kanye West's musical collaborations with Paul McCartney has already reached number three in the US charts after being released on New Year's Day. "Only One" is an ode to West's daughter, North. Kanye states, "My mom was singing to me, and through me to my…

SCHOOLBOY Q – “Gangsta & Soul” {Mixtape} #ThrowbackThursday via @lisafordblog
SCHOOLBOY Q is a great rapper, pure and simple and raw sh*t that don't melt. "They Reminisce Over You" Freestyle? ... He bodied that sh*t. Q's mixtapes are too underrated. I'm sure most hip hop heads have "Gangsta & Soul" downloaded in their collection already, but I'm posting now for those who don't. I love the beginning of the song "Dead Rappers" , taken from 2pac's movie "Juice". Q's been going hard for a long ass time. His music gets me through the day. This…

Joey BadA$$ – Trap Door [Prod. By Alchemist] #ThrowbackThursday via @lisafordblog
Happy New Year!! Let's kick things off with a throwback from an artist whom I believe deserve some all around praise for being a hardcore new-schooler...JOEY BADA$$. Every song Joey releases is on point and dope. The beat is f*cking unreal. I still don't get how Alchemist doesn't come up when we talk about the greatest producers of all time. And I really think more underground artists like Joey need to be recognized and underground music should be given more attention by the public eye,…

N.W.A. – “Straight Outta Compton” (Movie Trailer) via @lisafordblog
For me, the jury is still out on how I feel about an upcoming N.W.A. movie. Some say that it's a story long overdue, but I feel that once they start making movies about famous rap figures, it diminishes my memory of the era. I don't know. This is just how I feel about it. F. Gary Gray is the director, so I'm sure the film is going to be hardcore and worth watching regardless. Anticipation is definite.

LOGIC – “Under Pressure” (Full Album Stream) #MusicMonday via @lisafordblog
For those of you who haven't already copped this album, take a listen to the full stream. There's not one song on "Under Pressure" I dont like. LOGIC is one of the sickest most underated artists right now!. I've been loving him for a long time, ever since the first "Young Sinatra" mixtape. Damn it's good to see one of my favorite artists starting to blow up. Hopefully he gets the shine he deserves.

THE WEEKND – “Earned It” (Fifty Shades Of Grey) Official Lyric Video #MusicMonday
Yes, this song is different (some say a little too commercial...oh well). It isn't vulgar. That is not a bad thing. That's what's wrong with many fans of artists in this generation, we don't allow our favorite artists experiment. This song is amazing in my opinion. The orchestral background and the REAL drums form a beautiful stage for Abel to sing over. Every song Abel (The Weeknd) releases doesn't have to be dark, cold-hearted, guilt ridden, low-life pussy anthems, no matter how good they are…

COMMON – “War” (Audio) #ThrowbackThursday via @lisafordblog
One of the best songs Common created, "War", for some strange reason isn't featured on his latest album, "Nobody's Smiling"... which is why it was a must that I posted it on this blog. The production sounds like something wicked from a 60's or 70's horror flick laced with Common's diabolical lyricism. It's just an all around great record that zooms in on the crisis and violence we are witnessing in Chicago and in America's inner cities. In the Outro of "War", Common states, "The…

J COLE’s – “Intro” (Music Video) and Full Album Stream via @lisafordblog
"J. .Cole in one word - Amazing, I liked about 98% of sideline and BS and don't even get me started on his great mixtapes...I'm glad he didnt detour from the path he's been on over the years and I see people talking about how he should branch out and do this or that but there's an old saying: "If it ain't broke dont fix it". I'm not saying he's a living reincarnation of Mozart as a rapper (yet), but he damn sure is one…
