Nas delivers a powerful performance of “World’s An Addiction” alongside R&B legend, Anthony Hamilton, on the Conan show last night. Nas is currently in his “Life Is Good/Black Rage” tour with superstar, Lauryn Hill, and took a detour to give us a taste of what goes down during his shows. “World’s An Addiction” is off of Nas ‘Life is Good’ album, which is being considered as one of the best Rap albums ever. Nas wraps up his tour next month before headlining a show at at the world renowned, Radio City Music Hall, New Year’s Eve.
The Game’s, “Celebration” pays tribute to the late great Easy E by featuring Easy E’s and one of Hip Hop’s favorite groups of all time, Bone Thugs-n-Harmony! ‘Celebration’, a remix of Bone’s ‘First of the Month’, is the first single off of Game’s ‘Jesus Piece’ album which features cameos from Kanye West, Rick Ross, Lil’ Wayne, Common, 2 Chainz, Meek Mill, and more. The already controversial album is set to be release December 11th.
Young Jeezy puts good ole’ Macon, GA on the map (Unionville, Pansy Ave. to be exact) with this gritty new video for his current hit single, ‘Get Right’. Leave it to Young Jeezy to always find time to represent the streets, which can be contributed to his longevity in the rap industry (hence, the guy in the video wearing the ‘Still Doing It’ t-shirt). Success is Young Jeezy’s middle name and he uses visuals of exotic cars riding through the hood to express that. His video is a modern day gangsta party.
What an explosive combination! Alicia Keys joins R&B legend, Maxwell, for a powerful duet titled, “Fire We Make”, off of Alicia’s new album, “Girl On Fire”. It’s been awhile since we’ve heard Maxwell’s silky voice, and what a perfect way to burst back into the scene then with this amazing song on Alicia’s new album. ‘Girl On Fire’ is set to be released November 26th and it will show how Alicia has evolved as an artist.
Jimi Hendrix will be immortalized with the release of his smoking new album, ‘People, Hell and Angels’. It includes 12 unreleased recordings from 1968 and 69, in which Hendrix described as new music with ‘experimental directions’. According to Rolling Stone, the iconic musician was considering these new sounds for ‘First Rays of the New Rising Sun’, the initial double-album follow-up to ‘Electric Ladyland’. Although Hendrix is a famed guitarist, he experiments with horns, keyboards, percussion and a second guitar in this new album.
Big Boi’s, highly anticipated brand new album, ‘Vicious Lies And Dangerous Rumors’, is set to be released Dec. 11th, via Def Jam Records. ‘Mama Told Me’, is first single off the album and the imagery in the video is sick! It’s directed by Syndrome and he and Big Boi present contorted and warped imagery of an imaginary place. The song and the video is topped off with beautiful songstress, Kelly Roland.
I LOVE this track! Juicy J recycled a ‘The Weeknd’ beat, threw Wiz on it, and came up with this hit. The video came out about a week ago with visuals showing a ‘tour bus party’. Looks like they’re having good times.
‘ICE’ by Kelly Rowland is one my favorite joints out right now. The song (and video) is sexy, steamy, and romantic. I also like how she threw the rap verse in the middle of the song then keep on going after Lil Wayne’s part. Lil Wayne is not in the video though.
Game freestyle’s in New York. He’s dissing ex Bad Boy rapper Shyne for his negative remarks towards Kendrick Lamar, and rapper 40 glocc for filing a lawsuit after Game whipped his ass. I didn’t post this video because of all of the drama behind it, I posted it because the Game goes hard…and that intro beat is sick! I’m looking forward to his new album, ‘Jesus Piece’, set to drop December 11th.
