HAPPY BIRTHDAY #ANDRE3000 ! – “A Life in the Day of Benjamin Andre” (AUDIO) via @lisafordblog
One of the greatest lyricists of our generation turned 40 today...super dope, super fresh...ANDRE 3000! His contribution to Hip Hop is immeasurable ... Everytime he spits, it demands intricate attention by the listener. And what I'm posting today could possibly be the greatest song that Hip Hop has to offer! There are many good songs now, won't ever forget that, but "A Life in the Day of Benjamin Andre" is better then all of them (well, to me it is). Andre's story-telling ability is par…

What To Do After SCANDAL?? Drink Lots of @ROSAREGALE ! (PHOTOS) via @lisafordblog
ROSA REGALE, the latest sensation of sparkling red wines, kicked off the start of a sizzling HOT Summer in Miami with a SCANDALICIOUS finale watch party last week. Featured at the beautiful Viceroy Hotel in downtown Miami was Olivia Pope on a big screen for ABC's SCANDAL grand finale and the line was long to get into what would be one great party full of beautiful people networking and sipping on Rosa Regale. The #ScandalWatchParty event was hosted by famous author, blogger, and reality TV…

BIGGIE SMALLS – “Party & Bullshit” (Original Video 1993) @LisaFordBlog ‘s IPOD Pick
As a Hip Hop head, I know you already have BIGGIE's 'Party & Bullshit' in your music catalog. In my opinion, this is Biggie's best song. It epitomizes delivery, BIG's deadly flow, and flawless timing. Believe it or not, this was his first track ever which was released as the fourth promotional single for the soundtrack to the 1993 film 'Who's the Man?'. The irony? ... The best way to describe most of today's music is this song's title. ;-) R.I.P B.I.G. He would have…

MEEK MILL – “Ooh Kill Em” (Music Video) @LisaFordBlog ‘s IPOD Pick!
MEEK MILL's "Ooh Kill Em" was the only Kdot diss record that was any good (out of several), and it captured the "playing the dozens" element deeply rooted on Hip Hop elegantly. Meek Mill remixed Terio's "Ooh Kill Em" with a Dr. Dre beat, as a platform to respond to Kendrick Lamar's "I'm the King of NY" diss line in his infamous "Control" battle rap song where Lamar called out major rappers by name, giving them a warning that he was taking over as rap…

P. REIGN ft. Meek Mill & Partynextdoor – “Realest In the City” (Audio) @LisaFordBlog ‘s IPOD Pick
P REIGN's "Realest In The City" is my IPOD Pick today for one main reason: that beautiful ass beat. The beat is a guitar sample on two different tracks that are looped. They are offset to harmonize with one another and one has a flanger on it. They are panned left and right. The bass line is what brings it all together and its just some synth. The strings sound like mono orchestra in omnisphere. And the drums are just basic trap drums. DOPE.

#Miami’s DENZEL CURRY – “Zone 3” (Music Video) @LisaFordBlog’s IPOD Pick! #MM
If you haven't copped DENZEL CURRY's "Nostalgic 64" album already, the you're missing out. One of my favorite cuts off the album is "Zone 3", a record about police brutality. Not only do I love the concept of this song and the fact that Curry reps my city - Miami, but I find it fitting to post this cut now because of all of the madness involving the recent murders of unarmed black men by over zealous police in this country.

KENDRICK LAMAR ft. Gunplay – “Cartoon & Cereal” (Fan Music Video) @LisaFordBlog ‘s IPOD Pick!
What do I like about KENDRICK LAMAR's "Cartoons & Cereal"? ... Everything! Watch this this fan video I'm posting. It's simply incredible and wildly creative. The subtle touches like Tupac on the news screen etc, just brilliant. And this song is different from the majority of rap that's currently out. You feel the up & down struggle in the lyrics and in the harmony in the music. Signature Kendrick Lamar. There's no debating that this man is a genius. Lamar is taking Hip Hop to…

DJ SNAKE & ALUNA GEORGE – “You Know You Like It” (Music Video) @LisaFordBlog ‘s IPOD Pick
Hello! Today May 10th, is the start of LISA FORD's IPOD Picks. Everyday this week, I'll be posting the songs I've been vibing to recently because at the end of the day, it's all about the music. The IPOD picks will be in no particular order, some are new, some are a little older, but all are hot! I'm kicking things off with DJ SNAKE's & ALUNA GEORGE's - "You Know You Like It". It's an all-around sexy summer hit and this beat is a…
