TUPAC Freestyling on the Streets of New York, Runs into Music Bootleggers (Rare VIDEO) via @lisafordblog

My mother says every time she checks out my blog she sees TUPAC! Yes Ma'am! And today's post is dedicated to this rap legend because Pac would have turned 44 today if he wasn't gunned down in Las Vegas over 18 years ago. Pac will always be a dominant feature on this blogspot because in my opinion, he is the #1 Pioneer of Hip Hop. Couple that with the fact that I'm still in mourning over his death. I will never get over 2pac because I'm too in love with his music. Happy Birthday Machiavelli !

ICE BERG’s “Vice Versa Freestyle” -Remix of the PASTOR TROY Hit (Download) #TBT via @lisafordblog

ICE BERG paid homage to PASTOR TROY's iconic, "Vice Versa" with a nasty flow worthy enough to be mentioned on this blog for Throwback Thursdays. You have to have balls of steal to even attempt to freestyle on one of Hip Hop's hardest tracks and Ice Berg pulled it off with grace. Pastor Troy released "Vice Versa" in 2002 on his 'Universal Soldier' album. Ice Berg released "Vice Versa Freestyle" in 2012 on his 'Strictly 4 The Streets 3' mixtape.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY #ANDRE3000 ! – “A Life in the Day of Benjamin Andre” (AUDIO) via @lisafordblog

One of the greatest lyricists of our generation turned 40 today...super dope, super fresh...ANDRE 3000! His contribution to Hip Hop is immeasurable ... Everytime he spits, it demands intricate attention by the listener. And what I'm posting today could possibly be the greatest song that Hip Hop has to offer! There are many good songs now, won't ever forget that, but "A Life in the Day of Benjamin Andre" is better then all of them (well, to me it is). Andre's story-telling ability is par none! Even Eminem, who is master lyrical story-teller, is surpassed here (to me, anyway). And, 3000 keeps you so engrossed into the story that even when there's a change in the it, he doesn't lose you. The beat is hypnotic and Andre 3000 is a living Rap God.

BIGGIE SMALLS – “Party & Bullshit” (Original Video 1993) @LisaFordBlog ‘s IPOD Pick

As a Hip Hop head, I know you already have BIGGIE's 'Party & Bullshit' in your music catalog. In my opinion, this is Biggie's best song. It epitomizes delivery, BIG's deadly flow, and flawless timing. Believe it or not, this was his first track ever which was released as the fourth promotional single for the soundtrack to the 1993 film 'Who's the Man?'. The irony? ... The best way to describe most of today's music is this song's title. ;-) R.I.P B.I.G. He would have turned 43 today.

DE LA SOUL & NAS – “Got It” – (New Music!) via @lisafordblog

Global Grind writes, "With only (10) days left until the Kickstarter to record their eighth studio album ends, De La Soul teams up with Nas on a new jam titled “God It.” The hip-hop collective’s been recording non-stop in Atlanta, and decided to offer up the G_Force-produced song as a token of appreciation. Unfortunately, “God It” won’t appear on De La Soul’s forthcoming album, but the collaboration is an “indication of good music to come.” Initially, De La Soul was only asking fans for help crowdfunding $110,000 to record their album, but thankfully, the legendary group surpassed their goal and raised a whopping $472,000. De La Soul’s forthcoming album will feature guest appearances by 2 Chainz, Damon Albarn, and Little Dragon."

RUN DMC Is Bringing The House Down!!! In Miami Gardens #JITG via @lisafordblog

RUN DMC's influence on Hip Hop is stronger than the Earth's gravitational pull. After their reign, there is no where in the Universe any rapper would exist if RUN DMC hadn't pulled the trigger and fired out the most iconic music of our lifetimes. We're talking gangster flows with rock-hard horns over game-changing sound & production. Now the Supermen of rap have landed at the world famous JAZZ IN THE GARDENS music festival on March 21st & 22nd at the SunLife Stadium in Miami Gardens, FL. Come out and experience what will be one of the greatest moments in Music this year.

The 2015 JAZZ IN THE GARDENS Line Up! & Throwback Footage of TEENA MARIE’s Performance! (Video) via @lisafordblog

Out of all the music festivals I (and staff) attend each year, by far the JAZZ IN THE GARDENS music series is my all-time favorite! The City of Miami Gardens, Florida treat us each year with performances from legendary musicians and amazing international cuisines. And dare I say that the 2015 JAZZ IN THE GARDENS Line-Up is even better than imagined? Check this out! In the house will be the tantalizing ERYKAH BADU, Hip Hop Icons - RUN DMC, the bad boy of R&B - R. KELLY, the very sexy TONI BRAXTON, super hot MAXWELL, the baddest drummer in the world - SHELIA E, and the list goes on! As a special treat, in this blog post, I've included a short video of TEENA MARIE performing at Jazz In The Gardens back in 2010. This performance is special to me because I had a chance to see Teena live one last time before she passed away. And that's what JAZZ IN THE GARDENS is all about. Creating memories and great experiences that will last a lifetime. Out of all the places in the world, the Jazz In The Gardens Music Festival is the one place you need to be March 21st & 22nd in Miami Gardens, FL.

Watch: 2PAC, Grand Puba, and Treach’s CYPHER!! (Rare Video) via @lisafordblog #MusicMonday

First I have to mention that Grand Puba's "2000" should go down in the rap history books as a sheer classic album. I stand by that statement and I don't care what all the hip hop heads say lol. I've been debating Puba's status as a 'legend' for years in social media platforms, so to present this video with him, the greatest of all time, PAC, and Treach, comes with great honor. AmbrosiaForHeads writes, "Back in 1992, before the East Coast/West Coast beef was in full effect, Treach, Tupac and Grand Puba found themselves together backstage and decided to have an impromptu cipher. The moment was caught on tape and has made the rounds over the years, but it’s still amazing to see the three legendary MCs together rhyming just for the sport of it. Each MC flows with aggression, a cappella. Check it out."
