TUPAC Freestyling on the Streets of New York, Runs into Music Bootleggers (Rare VIDEO) via @lisafordblog

My mother says every time she checks out my blog she sees TUPAC! Yes Ma'am! And today's post is dedicated to this rap legend because Pac would have turned 44 today if he wasn't gunned down in Las Vegas over 18 years ago. Pac will always be a dominant feature on this blogspot because in my opinion, he is the #1 Pioneer of Hip Hop. Couple that with the fact that I'm still in mourning over his death. I will never get over 2pac because I'm too in love with his music. Happy Birthday Machiavelli !

ICE BERG’s “Vice Versa Freestyle” -Remix of the PASTOR TROY Hit (Download) #TBT via @lisafordblog

ICE BERG paid homage to PASTOR TROY's iconic, "Vice Versa" with a nasty flow worthy enough to be mentioned on this blog for Throwback Thursdays. You have to have balls of steal to even attempt to freestyle on one of Hip Hop's hardest tracks and Ice Berg pulled it off with grace. Pastor Troy released "Vice Versa" in 2002 on his 'Universal Soldier' album. Ice Berg released "Vice Versa Freestyle" in 2012 on his 'Strictly 4 The Streets 3' mixtape.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY #ANDRE3000 ! – “A Life in the Day of Benjamin Andre” (AUDIO) via @lisafordblog

One of the greatest lyricists of our generation turned 40 today...super dope, super fresh...ANDRE 3000! His contribution to Hip Hop is immeasurable ... Everytime he spits, it demands intricate attention by the listener. And what I'm posting today could possibly be the greatest song that Hip Hop has to offer! There are many good songs now, won't ever forget that, but "A Life in the Day of Benjamin Andre" is better then all of them (well, to me it is). Andre's story-telling ability is par none! Even Eminem, who is master lyrical story-teller, is surpassed here (to me, anyway). And, 3000 keeps you so engrossed into the story that even when there's a change in the it, he doesn't lose you. The beat is hypnotic and Andre 3000 is a living Rap God.

BIGGIE SMALLS – “Party & Bullshit” (Original Video 1993) @LisaFordBlog ‘s IPOD Pick

As a Hip Hop head, I know you already have BIGGIE's 'Party & Bullshit' in your music catalog. In my opinion, this is Biggie's best song. It epitomizes delivery, BIG's deadly flow, and flawless timing. Believe it or not, this was his first track ever which was released as the fourth promotional single for the soundtrack to the 1993 film 'Who's the Man?'. The irony? ... The best way to describe most of today's music is this song's title. ;-) R.I.P B.I.G. He would have turned 43 today.

DE LA SOUL & NAS – “Got It” – (New Music!) via @lisafordblog

Global Grind writes, "With only (10) days left until the Kickstarter to record their eighth studio album ends, De La Soul teams up with Nas on a new jam titled “God It.” The hip-hop collective’s been recording non-stop in Atlanta, and decided to offer up the G_Force-produced song as a token of appreciation. Unfortunately, “God It” won’t appear on De La Soul’s forthcoming album, but the collaboration is an “indication of good music to come.” Initially, De La Soul was only asking fans for help crowdfunding $110,000 to record their album, but thankfully, the legendary group surpassed their goal and raised a whopping $472,000. De La Soul’s forthcoming album will feature guest appearances by 2 Chainz, Damon Albarn, and Little Dragon."
