ICE CUBE, one of the realest to ever do it. We salute all of your contributions to Hip Hop and thank you for setting the bar high in terms of lyricism, story telling, content & subject matter, and of course, that hardcore West Coast sound. In honor of the rap legend, actor, and entrepreneur, I posted a video synonymous with Ice Cube’s legacy – “Gangsta Rap Made Me Do It”. This is the uncensored version.
PETE ROCK & C.L. SMOOTH {Interview} – The Making of “T.R.O.Y.” (VIDEO)
Not long ago, I did a survey within all of my social networking sites asking everyone, “What is the #1 Hip Hop song of ALL TIME.” Without a doubt, PETE ROCK’s and C. L. SMOOTH’s “T.R.O.Y (They Reminisce Over You)”, won by a landslide…up by tens of thousands of votes. This is how monumental this group’s sound was/is to the culture, and what they represent.
In the latest episode of the Complex TV‘s “Magnum Opus” series, Pete Rock and C.L. Smooth recalls the historical moment on how this song was created, what was going on inside of their genius minds, and their general influences in regards to all the music they created. Representing ‘Mount Vernon, NY’, Pete Rock & C. L. Smooth give us the full breakdown of their classic “Mecca and the Soul Brother” album. Plus, they speak on Heavy D & The Boyz, and the death of their close friend Troy Dixon.

KELIS ft. ANDRE 3000 – “Millionaire” (MUSIC VIDEO) #Throwback
Today, we were having a debate on facebook on who’s the better rapper (strictly lyrical)… NAS vs Andre 3000. The consensus is that most people feel Nas is the better lyricist, especially knowing that Andre 3000 haven’t released a solo album yet. But at the same time, the fact that ’3 Stacks’ is being compared to ANYONE, based on just his collaborations alone, makes him a premiere MC for sure. Arguments in 3 Stacks favor suggests that he is more wittier than Nas. All of which reminded me of this collabo Andre 3000 did with Nas’ ex-wife, Kelis, titled, “Millionaire”.
