I was listening to the Rickey Smiley Morning Show last week when they were broadcasting live from Alabama at Alabama
Today, FUTURE released the visuals for his latest hit, "Mask Off" featuring Amber Rose as the leading lady. TheFader writes, "After teasing the video earlier this week, Future has dropped the official "Mask Off" visual. In the big budget video, which you can see above, Future drives past as an armed robbery spills out onto the street. The dark and murky scene is filled with flaming trash cans, a snake, multiple flute players, and Amber Rose in the passenger seat. Later on we see the armed robbers clashing violently with police. The Colin Tilley-directed video comes after "Mask Off" went platinum and became Future's highest charting single to date."
PITCHFORK: "Young Thug’s JEFFERY highlight “Wyclef Jean” has a new official music video, and it features only fleeting glimpses of Thug himself. The clip is full of text from the directors, Pomp&Clout, who outline all the ways the video’s creation allegedly went awry. Aside from one shot where Thug enjoys some Cheetos, the rapper never quite makes it to the video’s set. “On my way home, I wondered if Young Thug would’ve liked the shoot we put together for him,” reads the video’s text. Watch the video, with its tiny cars and child police officers."
Childish Gambino's 'Me and Your Mama' appears on new album 'Awaken, My Love!' due next month. Rolling Stone writes, "The six-minute, three-part song begins quietly and builds to a soulful, grooving affair with a female gospel-tipped chorus, before it ratchets up into a stomping blues-funk second passage where Gambino's passionate vocals kick in. "Do what you want/ I'm telling you/ Let me into your heart/ Can't stand it, backhanded/ They want to see us falling apart/ You know that I love you/ So let me into your heart," he sings, eschewing rap in favor of a raw, intense approach. Following the cacophonous midpoint, the song culminates with winding instrumentals, ushering in a cathartic ending to the sprawling composition."
"Future gets extra dirty for this week’s edition of #DirtyThursday. In the video for “Dirty $ex” off DS2, the FreeBand Gang leader engages in an intimate relationship with Blac Chyna. While he may have denied that they’re dating, the video proves that they definitely have chemistry. The on-screen couple doesn’t shy away from PDA during the four-minute makeout session. They kiss, hold hands, and roll in the sheets at Future’s Miami crib." - Rap-Up
"DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. — A new push by a columnist at The Atlanta Journal Constitution will likely change the face of Stone Mountain. AJC political columnist Jim Galloway says there's a lack of material at Stone Mountain Park that speaks to its neighbors, who are primarily African-American. On Stone Mountain, there are carvings of Confederate war heroes and a Confederate flag that flies next to an American flag."
One of the greatest lyricists of our generation turned 40 today...super dope, super fresh...ANDRE 3000! His contribution to Hip Hop is immeasurable ... Everytime he spits, it demands intricate attention by the listener. And what I'm posting today could possibly be the greatest song that Hip Hop has to offer! There are many good songs now, won't ever forget that, but "A Life in the Day of Benjamin Andre" is better then all of them (well, to me it is). Andre's story-telling ability is par none! Even Eminem, who is master lyrical story-teller, is surpassed here (to me, anyway). And, 3000 keeps you so engrossed into the story that even when there's a change in the it, he doesn't lose you. The beat is hypnotic and Andre 3000 is a living Rap God.

"Young Jeezy is gearing up to release his sixth Def Jam project called “Seen It All: The Autobiography” on September 2nd and with a little less than a month to go, Jeezy has delivered the visuals for the first single “Me Ok." - Urban Daily
Talk about a club banger?? PASTOR TROY'S, 'Just to Fight' is all that and more! Ironically, due to its inciting lyrics, this song was banned in a lot of clubs throughout the South, especially in places like in Alabama. But in Atlanta at a club called 'Eastside Bounce' on Columbia Drive, and in a neighborhood called Orange Mound in Memphis, TN, it grew in popularity and became a worldwide hit. 'Just To Fight' is featured on the 'Jermaine Dupri Presents... Young, Fly & Flashy Vol. 1' album and is undoubtedly Pastor Troy's masterpiece. I continue to listen to year after year after year because it has a timeless energy and a hardcore beat. 'Just To Fight' gets me motivated to face any and everything!
