Thanks Will Smith!! The Best ‘Happy-Ending’ in a Film Ever!! [Clip]

I posted this as today’s daily inspiration because often I felt the will to give up on my dreams. After many years, I came a long way, working and putting myself through college, interning for many magazines for free, all while raising children by myself. When you take on your dreams and pursue what appears as very difficult endeavors, you don’t get alot of support from family and peers. People tend to be fearful of your situation and abandon you when you need them the most. So I remind myself of people like Chris Gardner…

If the story of Chris Gardner (played by Will Smith in the (2006) film, The Pursuit of Happyness doesn’t inspire you to never give up on your dreams, I don’t know what will. Here was a man who was struggling trying to sell medical equipment door-to-door, not making enough money to support his wife and son, so his wife left him to raise the kid alone and he’s suddenly faced with terrifying challenges.

Eventually, in the film, Gardner goes homeless often sleeping in the subway bathrooms with his son until they find a shelter. In the meanwhile, Gardner takes on an apprenticeship working at a brokerage firm for free in hopes to be hired full-time which is a long shot for even the best in the business. At the end of the film, the firm only hires the top guy, and in this scene, Gardner is that man.

Why did Gardner succeed? Because he had nothing else to lose and was hungrier than everyone else at that firm. He worked harder than everybody at that firm because for him, it was either win or die. And ultimately, that’s how you succeed…when you are left with absolutely no other choice.

Because I didn’t give up, I have this blog which has become insanely popular across the world (especially in China for some strange reason lol). I have an animated TV series TaskmastersTV.com based off of comic book series (The Taskmasters) created by myself and Zodcore which will soon be available for sale in the U.S. My novel (which focuses on the music industry) will be in stores in one year. And I’m working on producing my first film for theatrical release through Lionsgate (keeping my fingers crosssed ;).

So shoutout to all of you who are out there busting your ass to make your dreams come true. Chris Gardner eventually started his own brokerage firm which earned millions, and authored the books, Life Lessons In The Pursuit of Happyness (2006), and bestselling book, Start Where You Are: Life Lessons in Getting from Where You Are to Where You Want to Be (2009).
