THE WEEKND – “Earned It” (Fifty Shades Of Grey) Official Lyric Video #MusicMonday
Yes, this song is different (some say a little too commercial...oh well). It isn't vulgar. That is not a bad thing. That's what's wrong with many fans of artists in this generation, we don't allow our favorite artists experiment. This song is amazing in my opinion. The orchestral background and the REAL drums form a beautiful stage for Abel to sing over. Every song Abel (The Weeknd) releases doesn't have to be dark, cold-hearted, guilt ridden, low-life pussy anthems, no matter how good they are…

J COLE’s – “Intro” (Music Video) and Full Album Stream via @lisafordblog
"J. .Cole in one word - Amazing, I liked about 98% of sideline and BS and don't even get me started on his great mixtapes...I'm glad he didnt detour from the path he's been on over the years and I see people talking about how he should branch out and do this or that but there's an old saying: "If it ain't broke dont fix it". I'm not saying he's a living reincarnation of Mozart as a rapper (yet), but he damn sure is one…

ASTRO – “Didnt Know [Starvin Like Marvin For A Cool J Song]” #ThrowbackThursday via @lisafordblog
In "Didn't Know", ASTRO reminisces about his life before his fame and explains his childhood with a ridiculously good flow. It's a genuine great rap song, one that is a pure representation of East Coast hip hop, a story being told with no cursing. "Didn't Know" has that Brooklyn sound I've missed, this is what Jay Z use to be, a young dude spitting some real sh*t. You might remember Astro from the XFactor about 3 years back. He's come a long way and has…

KENDRICK LAMAR Performs “Untitled” On The Colbert Report – New Music!! (VIDEO) via @lisafordblog
Let's all pray that KENDRICK LAMAR drops his album on Christmas without warning. That would be crazy! Artists like Kdot is why I consider Hip Hop to be the "master genre" of all genres. The pure poetry of it all. Words are so important, so incredibly amazing in rap, other genres just can't compare. Kendrick will be a legend up there with Biggie, Nas, Em, 2pac, Rakim, and the rest. Could even outshine them all in due time. His song, "Untitled" is amazing.

D’ANGELO’s New Album After 15 years – “Black Messiah” LISTEN: via @lisafordblog
D'Angelo, an old-school R&B king, is back after nearly 15 years. “Black Messiah is a hell of a name for an album. It can easily be misunderstood. For me, the title is about all of us. It’s about the world. It’s about an idea we can all aspire to. We should all aspire to be a Black Messiah. It’s about people rising up in Ferguson and in Egypt and in Occupy Wall Street and in every place where a community had enough and decides to…

PRO ERA – “Sol Luna” ft. Joey Bada$$, Dyemond Lewis & A La $ole (AUDIO) @LISAFORDBLOG’s IPod Pick
If PRO ERA's "Sol Luna" isn't already on your IPod, and you're a so-called Hip Hop purist, then I don't know what to say. It was released damn near a year ago on their "Secc$ Tap.e pt.2" mixtape and it represents 80's & 90's era Hip Hop. This shit is straight fire fam, authentic and smooth. Joey Bada$$ laces the track and the whole sound reminds me of A Tribe Called Quest. Props to the producer. Pro Era is bringing New York back for real!

STALLEY – “Free” (Audio) @LisaFordBlog’s IPod Pick!
WHAT UP DOE? I've missed you all. I've basically been on a month-long vacation working on my novel, traveling to Atlanta, Georgia, and uploading this blog to a bigger server to handle the influx of traffic. In deciding who would be the first artist to post, I chose STALLEY's "Free". The drive from Miami to Atlanta was about 12 hours, and "Free" was one of those jams on constant rewind. This post includes the audio only because Stalley has yet to do a video for…

RICK ROSS ft. JAY Z & Timbaland – “Movin Bass” (New Music) + Dope Artwork via @lisafordblog
One thing we can all say about the Rick Ross is that he's always been consistent with good music. His soon-to-be-released, "Hood Billionaire" album will probably be no different. Ross gives us a little taste of what's to come with his new single release, "Movin Bass" featuring another collab with Jay Z on a Timbaland beat. "Hood Billionaire" is set to be released November 24th.
