MC LYTE To Host 2012 Jazz In The Gardens Music Festival!!

This is the best time of the year, the ultimate moment South Florida (and the world) has been waiting for! The 7th Annual Jazz In The Gardens 2012 kicks off with yet another impressive line-up of musicians for the 2-day celebration of R & B / Old-School / Jazz / and Soul music held by the magical city of Miami Gardens, Florida.

Tens of thousands of people will flock to the Sun Life Stadium (over 45k were in attendance last year) to witness some of the biggest giants in Music come together on one stage and give performances that people will remember for a lifetime.  And to add icing on this cake, this year the event is hosted by the legendary MC LYTE, a pioneer in Hip Hop who paved the way not only for rap music, but for inspiring female rappers. Her presence (and Doug E Fresh’s) will solidify Rap’s & Hip Hop’s place within the annual festivities. MC LYTE states, “I think I’ll be all over the place – hosting, performing, MCing, whatever.”

Of course, performances by Patti Labelle, Doug E Fresh, and Jill Scott, will be those to die for. The line-up also includes Kevin Eubanks, Kem, Ramsey Lewis Electric Band, Kenny G, Nicole Henry, Ledisi, and the one and only, Mary J Blige. Blige – who will perform hits including “No More Drama,” “Family Affair,” “Not Gon’ Cry,” “Be Without You” and “I’m Going Down” – tells her fans to “expect the songs that you love, and a great performance. I’m just bringing Mary J. Blige.”
