First look at Angelina Jolie’s Animated Film About Life Under the Taliban (Trailer) via @lisafordblog

Angelina Jolie is lending her support to the Canadian co-produced movie, “The Breadwinner”.

“I am proud to be a part of this beautiful film with this timely and very important subject matter. Millions of girls around the world have to grow up before their time, working to provide for their families at a very young age and in difficult circumstances. They have the strength to do what no one should ask little girls to do.” – Angelina Jolie

Premieres Today – “I AM NOT YOUR NEGRO” (Official Trailer) via @lisafordblog

MOTHERJONES: “In the eyes of filmmaker Raoul Peck, the voice of author James Baldwin has been largely forgotten in the 30 years since his death. Yet Baldwin’s words remain uniquely relevant today.

I Am Not Your Negro, Peck’s Oscar-nominated documentary, which hits selected theaters this week, recounts Baldwin’s incisive examination of the systemic racism that underpins the black American experience. The film—based on letters, published work, and notes from Remember This House, Baldwin’s unpublished manuscript about his contemporaries Medger Evers, Malcolm X, and Martin Luther King Jr.—also serves as a critique on how Hollywood has clouded the bitter reality that African Americans faced in their struggle for civil rights.”

STAR WARS’ PRINCESS LEIA – Dead Today at 60 – RIP CARRIE FISHER x (Vintage Video) via @lisafordblog

“Theres no room for demons when you’re self possessed” – @carrieffisher RIP Princess… CARRIE FISHER. I remember watching her as PRINCESS LEIA in the STAR WARS films and telling myself that Fisher was a symbol of strength and girl power. This woman spoke openly about mental illness and helped so many people. Carrie Fisher wasn’t just Princess Leia, she was a phenomenal human being.

Rolling Stone: The upcoming Tupac Shakur biopic All Eyez on Me traces the cold reality of the fallen hip-hop forebear, and his rise from poverty to the highest echelon of fame. The film will be released on November 11th, just a couple months after the 20-year anniversary of the icon’s assassination on the corner of East Flamingo and Koval in Las Vegas.

SUICIDE SQUAD – Comic-Con First Look – Trailer [HD] via @lisafordblog

David Ayer’s SUICIDE SQUAD with Will Smith and Jared Leto is in theaters August 5, 2016, and all I can say is this flick will be amazing. Forbes magazine writes, “The film is about the titular squad, comprised of a number of DC Comics villains working to save the world. We’ve got Will Smith as Deadshot, Jared Leto as The Joker, Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn, and lots more (including some heroes, too, like Ben Affleck as Batman!)”

Go behind the scenes for the making of Barbershop 3 with ICE CUBE, Nicki Minaj, Common, Cedric The Entertainer, and many more in Episode 1 of the making of Barbershop 3. KUDOS to Cube for bringing back Eve and Cedric and adding Common. Look for BARBERSHOP 3 in theaters early 2016.

I’ve been posting a few movie trailers on the blog lately and here’s one more that looks scary as hell!

“BLACK MASS” Starring JOHNNY DEPP (New Movie Trailer) via @lisafordblog

JOHNNY DEPP is that one actor who inspires the hell out of me. Retrospectively, he is a genius considering his ability to completely transform himself, like a chameleon, for any role and deliver like no other. Case in point…his role in Director Scott Cooper’s (Out of the Furnace and Crazy Heart) third feature-length film, BLACK MASS, where Depp plays Whitey Bulger, one of the most violent criminals in US history turned FBI information. Check out the trailer. You’re not going to recognize Depp.

“BATMAN vs. SUPERMAN: Dawn Of Justice” (Movie Trailer) Leaked! via @lisafordblog

The “Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice” trailer is epic on so many levels! I love that they are paying homage to “The Dark Knight Returns pt. 2”, but in the reverse fashion of Superman being a threat rather than Batman. It’s all about Intimidation. Who intimidates who. Also Ben Afflecks’s voice is just perfect. It has that beautiful echoing effect which is great. That line absolute power corrupts absolutely was classic. Also hearing Alfred Pennyworth’s voice was amazing, not sure but I feel I saw Batman in a Temple maybe The Temple of Zeus.

This ‘leaked’ version of the first trailer is a bit blurry (bootlegged), but it still gives you a good glimpse at what you can expect from next year’s massive Batman v. Superman collision. This superhero blockbuster has a March 25, 2016 release starring Ben Affleck as Batman, Henry Cavill as Superman, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Laurence Fishburne as Perry White, Diane Lane as Martha Kent, Jeremy Irons as Alfred, Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor, Ray Fisher as Cyborg with Callan Mulvey, Holly Hunter and Tao Okamoto in new character roles for the film. Justice League is to follow directed by Zack Snyder as well
