CHAKA KHAN – AIN’T NOBODY!!                               And a Dedication to Lisafordblog.com Readers!! Yvette Marie Stevens became Chaka Khan at the age of 13 after joining an African music group called the Shades of Black. She officially became Chaka Adunne Aduffe Yemoja Hodarhi Karifi after a naming ceremony by a Yoruba priest. When I listened to her powerful voice while growing up in the mean streets of Detroit, I always wondered where her wild name came from! I’m a long way from home now, but everytime I hear this song, it takes me all the way back to my roots. During the brief reunion with her group, Rufus, one of the pre-eminent…

TRINA, Shonie, and Brianna –>Say Aah_Remix {new track} Trina, Shonie, and Brianna –>Say Aah_Remix

LIL WAYNE ft. EMINEM – DROP THE WORLD                    {new track!!}   Now: Who has the best verse? Wayne settles into a comfortable groove, mostly to make the explosive chorus sound that much bigger when it hits. Em goes hard right away, doing his tricky, show-off-y double-time flow, but, once you break it down, there’s not much clever stuff there. We’ll still give props to Eminem, if only for that part where he talks about sodomizing the music industry. Read more: Eminem and Lil Wayne Team Up for the First Time Ever at NYMAG.COM .

COME ON PEOPLE!!! LET’S STOP SLEEPING ON GOOD HIP HOP!!! TODAY’S FEATURE: RAPPER, GLC {GANGSTA IN CRISIS} !! Because a lot of new music is such garbage, this blog is gonna be dedicated to eliminating the ‘time factor’. If the music is good and still relevant…and sounds better than anything currently being rotated and played on radio, then it’s gonna be featured and promoted on this blog no matter when it was released. Let’s take GLC for example. One of Kanye’s prodigies from Chicago. This man should be running the Midwest by now, but it’s hard for REAL music to rise above because of the amount of garbage and gimmicks…

MARY J’S NEW ALBUM – STRONGER [and a Bitch Slap to prove it! LMAO!] Listen to her new album HERE   And she certainly proves to be stronger when she slaps the sh#t out of her husband when she thinks he is flirting with the waitress. Check out the video. You can hear it more than you see it.   Mary always had some gangster in her blood but I thought she toned it down when she found her ‘happiness’ and peace. I guess you can take the woman out of the streets, but not the street out of the woman. No matter, we will always love Mary even though…

BUFFALO STAND UP!!! THE SUPREME GENERAL DROPS HIS FIRST MIXTAPE!! FINALLY!! Ya’ll know I can’t listen to too many mixtapes, but what I liked about the The Supreme General’s is that I can listen to it all the way through. I told Supreme what my favorite track was ‘Catch Me In The Hood’ and low and behold, that’s the track that came with a music video attached. I watched the video and I was even more hooked because the video was grimey and uncomplicated, and represented real life in Buffalo…where all the soldiers march. With Supreme General, you’re not gonna find all of that fluff fluff shiny bling bling bullsh#t…
